After Ruth left the Yankees, Gehrig became team captain and took over the sweet spot—that most prime piece of real estate on a team-signed ball. He would stay there, more or less, until eventually stepping aside to pass the torch to DiMaggio. This medium-toned OAL ball (Harridge, light stampings) hails from the first post-Ruth championship season and the first of a dynastic four straight World Series titles. There are 15 signatures ranging from "5-7" strength.

Sweet Spot: Gehrig ("6-7"), McCarthy ("7")

North Panel: Pearson, Schulte, Crosetti, Fletcher

South Panel: Selkirk, unidentified

West Panel: Combs ("6"), Glenn, Broaca, Gomez ("6"), Kleinhans, Malone

East Panel: Hadley
