Note a prominent coaching career with this 1952 NCAA Tournament "Final Four" basketball program from Edmundson Pavilion in Seattle. HOF coach "Phog" Allen ran the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team for thirty-nine seasons, racking up a record of 590-219. Along the way he picked up three national championships, the first two of which were recognized retroactively for the 1922 and 1923 seasons. The third came in 1952, represented by the offered program, which presents in handsome (EX-MT) condition. This was Allen's first and only NCAA tournament win, earned by defeating a St. John's Red Storm team directed by another HOF coach, Frank McGuire. Listed on the Jayhawks roster are 1952 Tournament "Most Outstanding Player" Clyde Lovelette and Dean Smith, who both went on to join Allen in Basketball Hall of Fame.
