Skilled as both a tobacco farmer and multi-purpose pitcher, Kentucky native Woodie Fryman wore this Philadelphia Phillies road jersey during the 1969 season. From the southpaw’s second of six different big league suitors, the gray flannel button-down garment features the script-style “Phillies” displayed across the chest in maroon embroidery on white twill, with “22” embroidered to the back in like fashion. The left sleeve is home to an MLB silhouette “100th Anniversary” logo patch, while the collar’s interior features a strip tag with “Fryman” chain stitched in blue cursive. On the tapered left front tail, a “Wilson” size “44” label is accompanied by embroidered notations of “1969 Set 2.” There are six holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. The all-original Senior Circuit gamer shows significant game wear and is accompanied by a full photo LOA from Phil Wood.
