One of the great high points in baseball history is commemorated in comic book form with this Gold Age issue. Published by Fawcett in 1952, this exciting comic is titled "Thrilling True Story of the Baseball Yankees". This vintage issue is decorated on the front cover with real photo images of Joe DiMaggio, Casey Stengel, Allie Reynolds, Hank Bauer, Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle, while the back cover features a Yankees team photo with a "1951 World's Champions" banner at bottom. The front cover is also subtitled at bottom with "Story of the 1951 World Champions and Great Yankee Teams of the Past". This indication of the comic's contents is played out with reviews of the 1951 Yankees season, Joe DiMaggio's final campaign and Mickey Mantle's first. Also covered in Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World", that put the NY Giants into the '51 World Series as the Yankees opponents. These events transpired in the midst of the "Bronx Bombers" incredible streak of five consecutive WS championships, a feat that no other team has ever matched. Presenting in very respectable (FN-VF 7.0) condition with nice gloss and clean covers/pages, this memorable publication finishes up with tales of the Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig era, with images of both immortal sluggers.
