Following his first tour of duty with the moribund Philadelphia Phillies, Chuck Klein spent two-plus seasons in Chicago, where he played in his first and only World Series. Back in Philly for the second of three tenures, Klein autographed this album page along with five of his teammates. Encapsulated with autographs assessed “Authentic” by Beckett/JSA, the olive-colored sheet measures 4-1/2 x 6” and showcases graphite pencil endorsements that average (“8-9”) potency. Gathered during the 1938 season in which the club began a Major League record run of five successive 100-plus loss campaigns, the autographs include: Cap Clark (d.1957), Syl Johnson (d.1985), Chuck Klein (d.1958), Hugh Mulcahy (d.2001), Phil Weintraub (d.1987) and Del Young (d.1979).
