A model of resiliency and determination, Buffalo native Jeff Yeates was drafted by his hometown Bills, waived, signed by the Atlanta Falcons, waived again, and went on to earn a starting job and enjoy an 11-year career in the NFL. This Atlanta Falcons jersey was worn by Yeates during the 1976 season, his first with the team. The white mesh pullover garment features “79” displayed on the front, back and sleeves in black-on-red applique numerals, with “YEATES” sewn to a nameplate atop the back number in black block-style twill characters. White stretch ribbed knit lines the V-neck, while the vented left front tail is home to a “Reeder & McGaughey” local distributor’s tag, a “Russell Athletic” size “52” label and a swatch with a chenille stitched “76” identifier. Phenomenal game use is evident with dirt and perspiration-induced stains throughout, as well as scuff marks about the applique components.
