Throughout the years the great minds at Topps have mashed-up love and laughs with a variety of humorous series, such as Funny Valentines, Valentine Foldees and Valentine Postcards. Along the way, those cardboard concocting madmen have also given us elongated card types, including Wacky Plaks, Beatles Plaks and Sports Cars. In a really odd twist, the leading trading card producer put out the Real Wood Plaks series in 1962, paving the way for what now appears to be a fairly scarce test issue, "Valentine Wood Plaks". Advanced non-sport collectors nail down your bids for this 1963 Topps Valentine Wood Plaks empty retail display box (VG-EX+). This vibrant, vintage wonder measures 7-1/4 x 5 x 1-1/2" inches and retains a nice shape with bold colors and decent gloss. Minor signs of wear include a few light scuff marks, creases on either side of the lid foldout panel and two very small tears at the point where the lid flap tucks into the wax pack compartment at front.
