Voted Athlete of the Century, World Player of the Century and FIFA Player of the Century, soccer and international deity Pele wore and autographed this jersey during the latter portion of his lengthy tenure (1957-1971) with the Brazilian National Team. The yellow thick cotton pullover garment features the club’s famed “CBD” crest logo embroidered to the left breast and Pele’s iconic number “10” sewn to the back in green twill numerals. Near the right shoulder, Pele has signed in black fiber tip marker. Preceded by what appears to be a personalization, the signature has endured minimal fading, yet still maintains (“6”) strength and clarity. Green stretch ribbed cotton lines the sleeve endings and collar, while the collar’s interior is home to an “Athleta” fabric content tag with a “G” identifier. This historic pitch relic shows solid game wear with minimal color fading. Accompanying is a cert/sticker from Beckett (attesting to the autograph’s authenticity), as well as an LOA from the daughter of former Pele teammate Garrincha, who was given this shirt directly from Pele.
