Track down a noted scarce comic book with this 1954 DC World’s Finest #70 issue. Typical of the period, this 68-page comic sports a whimsical cover, and features multiple stories. Super-Hero genre titans Superman, Batman and Robin are depicted in vibrant colors, having a bit of a laugh as they face a perplexed shoe shine man. A fairly decent example, this vintage Gold Age book has some moderate abrasions alongside the lower half of the spine, that impact only a small part of Superman’s cape, and the end of the shoe shine stand. Also noted is a dime-size bit of surface paper loss on the back cover. Combined with strong colors, cover reflectivity is respectable, and the cream pages are supple, balancing out the detractions noted above, to earn a (GD-) designation for this scarce comic, noted as the last 15¢ issue of this title's Gold Age period.
